The Ronzoni Srl has carried out the maintenance of the Naviglio della Martesana by renewing the road pavement. In addition to the new asphalt, the work included some maintenance of subservices and renewal of signage. Commissioned by the Metropolitan City of Milan, the work was carried out in a few days despite the difficulties that a place of historical nature entails.
The Naviglio della Martesana, also known as Naviglio Piccolo, is the Milanese canal that enters the city from the north-east. It is a navigable channel that connects Milan with the river Adda and then with Lake Como. Designed by Leonardo da Vinci, it was inaugurated by Ludovico il Moro in 1496 and – we can say – represents one of the wonders of Lombardy.
Its road is narrow – as it was used to the roads of the time – and narrow space for movement for its maintenance. However, with millimeter precision, we were able to proceed quickly with the maintenance and resurfacing of the road surface, with the adjustment of manholes and drainage channels and the reworking of the road markings.
We are proud to have given new life to a path appreciated through the centuries by Milanese and tourists, loved and attended every day by bikers and runners.
