Improving the urban fabric through the redevelopment and expansion of existing services in order to ensure adequate traffic flow for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, with a consequent improvement in road safety and landscape quality. This is the objective of the construction site in Via Don Viganò, which has enabled the redevelopment of the urban fabric connecting Cesano Maderno to Seregno, in the province of Monza-Brianza.
The redevelopment involved the redesign of the entire road infrastructure, including the creation and refurbishment of green areas, the adaptation of pavements for pedestrian traffic, the construction of a cycle and pedestrian path and the creation of parking areas for residents and traders.
The area has been made more functional and welcoming thanks to new public lighting systems, the introduction of street furniture and the creation of flower beds and green areas. Special attention has been paid to people with disabilities: the redevelopment has eliminated architectural barriers, while an LVE path has been marked out along both pavements to allow blind people to walk safely.
The works, commissioned by the Municipality of Cesano Maderno, were carried out from June 2023 to May 2024.
