Sustainability and the roads of the future at Monza Fast Future
On 21 October Filippo Ronzoni, Special Attorney of Ronzoni S.r.l., spoke at Teatro Binario 7 during Monza Fast Future – Sustainability Festival. He talked about sustainable road maintenance and how long our infrastructure really lasts.
How long does a road really last?
The answer doesn’t depend only on traffic or weather. It depends on how much we invest today to make it last tomorrow.
On 21 October 2026, at 9 a.m. at Teatro Binario 7, Monza Fast Future – Sustainability Festival hosted a talk organised in collaboration with Assimpredil ANCE and the Order of Architects of Monza and Brianza. Filippo Ronzoni, Special Attorney of Ronzoni S.r.l., spoke about sustainable road maintenance. He addressed a challenge that involves the whole supply chain: designing and building roads that are more durable, efficient and safe, so that fewer new construction sites are needed over time and their environmental impact is reduced.
Every construction site produces CO₂, and stepping in only when a pothole appears means arriving too late.
“Sustainability means durability,” Ronzoni explained. “We as companies play a key role, but we can’t do it alone. Designers, clients, material and machinery manufacturers: we all need to move in the same direction.”
A concrete example is the deep rehabilitation of the load-bearing structure of a stretch of pavement on the A4 motorway. The works used graphene-enhanced binders, traffic monitoring technologies and increasingly advanced operating machinery.
