Construction of the Lentate tank

AIPO TANK OF LENTATE

AIPO (the Po Interregional Agency) through the update of the “Feasibility study of the hydraulic system of the Seveso stream” (2001), has identified the necessary interventions to contain the floods of the Seveso stream and their possible location. From this study, the four rolling tanks to be built at Senago, Paderno Dugnano, Varedo and Lentate sul Seveso were planned. It is precisely on the latter that the construction site we show on this page focuses. The process in question is the spondal defence by cyclopean stone boulders for a volume of about 20,000 m3.

The works in question concern the related structural works (reinforcement, formwork, concrete casts), precisely for the realization of the feed channel and for the underpass of the railway. In this case the greatest technical difficulties are found in the interference with SNAM’s gas pipeline and with the RFI railway line.

The future tank will have a volume of about 808,000 m3.
